Photo Friday !!

Let's all clap our hands : It's that time of the week again !

This week's theme : HATS

And one would wonder why I NEVER wear hats ! Hum... probably 'cause I've been surrounded by such prettiness from an early age ?

What can I say ?! At least, the colors matched... and it was the 70's. My mother has a urge to match everything, including every single colors around her. The fact that we looked ridiculous with those hats never even occured to her : all she could see was the matching colors ...

Yep, that's right : there's a rooster's ass on my head . In my defence, one of my many jobs requires to do parades quite a few times a year. And for very special occasions, we do wear an excellent copy of a uniform that would have been worn in 1862... I know, I know: it doesn't change the facts. I'm still wearing a roster's ass on my head...

Have a nice weekend everybody !!

HAHA!! I love your Rooster ass! Also, if you're anything like I was at that age, that first picture was taken about 3 seconds after you stepped outside...because right after that, the hat was GONE. Along with the Mittens and the Scarf. My kids are proper little bundlers...I can't understand it! (I never got them matching stuff, perhaps?) I'm here from Michele's today, hope you have a great weekend!

I had a plume when I was in the marching band. I hated that thing.

I think the pic is very sweet in the little hats....your mom was right.

Here from Michele's today! Have a nice weekend.

I look back at my childhood pictures, and I cringe. Sometimes I wish I knew what my parents - OK, my Mom - were thinking. But I think it's just that yesterday's fashion sense doesn't make sense today.

Looking ahead, I know our kids will look at their childhood pictures and think pretty much the same thing.

I kinda like the rooster hat. Very festive. I'm sure you look great as you walk in a parade. I wish I had the talent to pull it off.

OHhhh I so remember hating how mom dressed us to go out and play -- always remember it too especially when watching "A Christmas Story" LOL -- as for the rooster's ass -- I so remember hating having to put them on to march in parades -- eeek.....

If there is one excuse to wear a rooster's ass on your head, it's either practicing Santeria rituals or whatever parades you happen to be involved in.

Love the classic 70s shot.

Hi Trumpet Player!

:) You must look nice in that 1862 uniform! The rooster ass may look out of context in the picture but ok with the rest of the uniform...

Thank you for visiting yesterday.

Hey JATP! Michele sent me here to see you.

I'd have to say that the winter caps look a lot better than the rooster hat, TP. There's some kind of rule about never letting a bird sit on your head--they poop too much, y'know? Even back in 1862!

I hope none of your future jobs force you to engage in unnatural acts with barnyard fowl, TP.

I was going to write a "hats" post the other day. My daughter has always been a hat person, from the time she was very small. I have tons of pictures of her wearing all different kinds of hats!
