Book collection and singlehood...

Going through loads of boxes for books to read over the weekend, I happened to find a though reminder on why I am single and why I shouldn't be allowed to find a boyfriend on my own...

I've always had a thing for bad-boys. Guys that apparently only I saw things in them ; everybody else was just clueless on why the heck I would freely choose to go out with such weirdos.

Over the years, I've developed quite an obsession with a certain category of books. Books I would deliberately place on coffee tables, bedstands or bathroom shelves and really hope the guys would fumble through them. But I never got quite that lucky and I am now the proud owner of books such as : The art of civilized conversation, Etiquette for dummies, Little book of manners for boys and children books such as How to speak politely and why, How to behave and why and finally Manners can be fun.

Yep ; most of my exes where great sophisticated crowd charmers. But I am now a quite bored single gal still waiting for her friends to fix her up. Got the message guys ??

:-) I had a thing for a bad boy--once. And while the time I spent was him was oh so good, in the end he cured me of bad boys once and for all.

Hum, I married two bad boys...and they remain boys to this day. Actually, books make much better bed mates than boys sometimes...they remain interesting, stay in their proper place usually, stay true to their word....so the books were actually a good choice!

I know all about bad boys. Don't waste your time and energy on them!

Michele sent me. I wish I cold fix you up with a good guy, but I don't know any that are single now (since Hoss got married...LOL)

I used to like the wrong ones too until I took the time to grow up myself and see who I was as a person, what I had to offer in this life, and what type guy I wanted to share it with. I didn't marry until I was 39 if that tells ya anything! (Plus I liked being single)

Great post and hello from Michele's! Love your color here!

Been there. Done that though I never bought the books! ;-) Why on earth are smart, sophisticated eloquent and witty women attracted to these types? I guess if we knew we would sort it out LOL! Hope you find the perfect person soon and that you can throw away those books for good!
Michele sent me to say hi.

I'm not sure what it is about those types that we often find attractive. It's better to admire them from afar, lol!

My first visit here from Michele's. You have a nice looking blog. And I also just realised you're female, so look over my "Mr." comment on Michele's blog. My bad! LOL!

I have had a thing for bad boys since puberty and it has not changed. I just LOVE bad boys. But I married a good boy!

A bookcase can be so informative. Even without reading the books there. :) Maybe I better go take a look at mine...

Michele says hello.

Tsk-tsk-tsk. You're showing a little attitude there, JATP. Michele sent me over here to witness you 'fessing up to your bad boy thing.

Don't you think it's a triffle problematic to want these "civilized" attributes from a guy when your hormones are craving the bad boy theme?

I love your new header, JATP, but I'm not so sure about the background. A mite busy...

Hey there. I didn't think you'd turn out to be "just" a trumpet player. :)

These books sound like a bit of fun, each in their own, but have you actually read them all? I'd guess they'd cover much the same material. When I started reading, I thought the books to be listed would be all James Dean-type character driven novels! Ah, well... Good luck!
Here from Michele's.
