Boring ramblings... just 'cause I'm allowed to

Life has never been so busy ; which is good, in a way... - I was finally able to spend a weekend with my new niece, Noemie. Little missy is now 9 months old and is already walking !! And she looooves playing jokes on people. I want one just like her...

- I've been cancelling many gigs lately. I've had an ongoing shoulder and wrist problem for many, many years (one of the perks of being a musician...) and the pain just reached a new high. The new meds are now doing wonders but the break did allowed me to go see one of my favorite band, Das Contras , in Rochester two weeks ago. What a blast ! And nothing better to lift your spirits than having the lead singer suddenly recognizing you in the crowd and say "Hi" in the middle of his speech... Oh ! and he dedicated a song to me in their first set. Thanks !! Feeling much better now !

- Miss Moka, my very old and lazy chocolate lab, has decided to take up snoring on our last trip to Rochester. And she is getting very good at it too ... Worse than an 80 years old man. Not only is she taking up the entire bed now but the noise she makes is enough to wake up the entire building. I should just get a boyfriend...

- I'll be doing some canyoning on Saturday. Yes, it is the right spelling ; I checked. Basically, I'll be doing some rappelling in the middle of a water fall. Sounds great !!

- My digital camera broke down last month ( In case you hadn't noticed the crappy pictures I've been posting from my cellphone...) Any idea on what I should get next ? Preferably in the inexpensive or somehow free range :)

- Nico will be in town over the weekend ; I already bought the Advil. There's usually some hard partying involved when he's around. And we make a very good party team... Although he does have some competition now ; A and V can pull it off as well !

- I've been taking care of my mom for the past few weeks ; a job that can be very exacerbating at time (I have a new found respect for you, Calliope ) I also discovered that you can find humour in otherwise frustrating situation. Like when she called me in a panic because the cable guy was on its way to install a new phone system using cable but that she couldn't find the cable hook on the old phone ; only a regular jack... Or when she feels the need to tell anybody that she's had several stokes and needs some time to assimilate what people are talking about. She's basically telling them : "You can rip me off and I won't notice". But most people get bored with her story, suddenly feel scared and leave as fast as they can. You should have seen the Jehovah Witness guy running away... Yes, it usually require a lot of patience, tact and a lot of explaining to do. But I also find myself laughing out loud at things that wouldn't be funny in any other situation...

Yeahhhhhhh! I am just about to assemble all what I need for my week in Québec.

And very important, how many bottles can I stuff in my bag (apart from the 2 the customs allow...)?
I can already tell you I have a bottle of Crémant and one of «Pipi d'Ange» ;)

Goodness. "Busy" is an understatement I'd say. I can certainly relate to more than a few of your points here. Thanks for sharing.

Here via Michele tonight.
