My 8 years old niece was going through her mom's bedside table when she found some , hum, battery operated device ( k'mon, you know which one I'm talking about ) With perfect timing , my sister entered the room and found her daughter standing by the bed, holding the... thing, wondering what to make of it . Without a flinch, my sister grabbed it and said : " Wow ! You've found the flashlight ! I was looking for it . Thanks !! "
Quick... very quick !
But somebody needs a better hideout...

Only problem is... my dd LOVES flashlights and would then be hunting it out any chance she got :) Was definitely quick thinking though :)
Thanks for stopping by Crayons (via Michele!!)
Same thing happened to a friend of mine except this particular device was VERY lifelike. She turns around upon hearing "MOM! Theres a willy in your drawer!!!!". She about died of course. Here via Michele. Going to snoop around a bit.
Yes, I think a better hiding spot is in order; maybe a shoe box in the closet??
Michele sent me.....LOL
LOL, LOL, LO! Very quick! Gosh, where to put that flashlight???? Hmmmmm.
I'm here from Michele tonight!
Every mother's worse nightmare!! LOL
Hi! Michele sent me! Great intro post to your site! Kids will be kids.;-)
Lol this is too funny. Michele sent me by to wish you congratulations on being chosen as site of the day. I love a fellow girl trumpet player!!! I have been playing since i was seven! Woohooo i will be back for sure.
Yes, I can just see her hunting for it again when she needs a flashlight.
Michelle sent me.
Be quicker than your kids! It has worked for me, lol! Congrats on being Michele's site of the day!
Yeah, a better storage spot's needed! I'm here via Michele and will take a look around. :)
I was here earlier today and Michele sent me back! Congratulations on being Site Of The Day!
Have fun with it!
OMG! Awkward! She is one quick thinker. Hopefully her daughter will forget this. I know your sister won't!
Congrats on being Michele's site of the day!
Michele sent me. I bet your sister is thrilled to have that story up on the day Michele chose you for extra traffic!
Yep ! My sister's so proud to be a star now...
LOL! Ok, but now what about when your neice wants to play with the flashlight?
Michele sent me over to say congrats on being site of the day.
Yeah! Another Photo Friday Friend makes site of the day!
Congrats and hello from Michele!
Congrats on being Michele's site of the day! I still think the "battery-operated device" should go in the closet! LOL
Wonderful little story. Here via Michele's today.
HAHAHAHAH that's funny!!!
Hello Michele sent me.
OMG! That is so funny!
Michele sent me!
hahaha what a funny post to have up when you're Michele's site of the day ;-)
oh, and hi, Michele sent me!
Hi, Michele sent me -- good comeback -- now I'll know what to say if it ever happens to me. Congrats!!!
heehee...too cute! Althought now the question is: Will she always have this crazy memory (hence future stories) about the weird flashlight she found once?!?!
Here from Michele's!
You sister is a quick thinker!
Here from Michele, hello, and congratulations on site of the day!
ROFLMFAO! That is classic. I think once we had kids, every one of us who own a batter operated object had to find a better hiding place. Thankfully, my daughter was only 2 when she found it. Nothing to explain there. Whew!
PS - Michele sends me today.
Too funny! I bet your sister finds a new hiding place doesn't she! lol
Here from Michele's!
LOL....Just like in the movie Parenthood, but that one happens in front of the whole family. Maybe I should consider a new place for the "flashlight"
PS> Michele sent me!
Oops! One day that girl is going to have the shock of her life!!
Here from Michele's. Congrats on being site of the day!
For all of your concerns...The flashlight is well hiden now !!!
Funny! :-)
Michele sent me.
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
That'll never happen in my house.
We have cats.
Ahem...
Michele sent me. Thanks for that!
Not a very bright kid if she didn't realize there was no bulb. Still pretty embarrassing.
Michele sent me.
Yellojkt: she is actually one of the brightest kids you'll ever meet. But since she has a Luminou flashlight, one that has no apparent lightbulb, just a glowing plastic cover, she thought her mom used the same kind of technology... after all, she held that thing for about 5 sec...
Oh man, you just gave me some blog material..now only to figure out how to edit for family..hmmmm
Hello again -- here from Michele's today :) -- still think it is hilarious :)
one day it will dawn on her that that was no flashlight. heh heh
**Blush**
flashlight - i can't think of anything witty or brilliant to say, except " michele sent me for the flashlight"
ya know, ive seen em that come with lights on the end...
Too funny! And....let there be light.
Reminds me of my own childhood experiences rummmaging through my parents' room when they were away.
It's a wonder my mind wasn't damaged permanently!
Good times!
